Utility Billing Specialist

 

The Tri City Water & Sanitary Authority is seeking motivated applicants to fill a Utility Billing Specialist position.  This full time position is responsible for performing office support activities including reception, customer service, answering telephones, data entry, customer billing, accounts’ receivable, filing, and mailings.

  

SPECIFIC DUTIES:  Under the direct supervision of the Authority Manager, this position is responsible for the following duties:

  • Answer phone and greet visitors.
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Prepare customer water and sanitary billing.
  • Take payments from customers.
  • Take and complete service orders.
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
  • Create Word documents.
  • Schedule maintenance and repairs for office equipment.
  • Maintain files.
  • Backup for taking board meeting minutes.
  • Prepare and mail customer notices (i.e. shut off notices).
  • Back up accounts payable.
  • Provide support to Authority Manager, Administrative Assistant, Utility and Plant staff to include typing, spreadsheets, Word documents, data entry, filing, document scanning, copying, mailings, scheduling appointments and other work as needed.
  • “Kitchen” duties including washing dishes, maintaining beverage and supplies for meetings in the board room.
  • Vacuuming, dusting and maintaining clean work environment.
  • Run totals on electronic calculator.
  • Work with collections’ agency on past due accounts.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:            High school diploma or equivalent and two year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift, squat and bend in order to move up to 20 pounds.
